Preaching
Preaching the Word of God is an essential leadership gift within our church and comes with one of the highest callings. While one does not need to be a Pastor to preach there does come an expectation of a Christian life worthy of bringing the Word. This gift therefore comes with the most scrutiny and preparation.
Criteria: Covenant Member of Waypoint, Practical School of Ministry Graduate, Minister Approval, Police Checks
Preferred: Some theological study
Hosting
Hosting is a leadership role within the life of the church in encouraging people to come into the presence of God and to delivering communication from the church. One would need to have a welcoming and warm presence from the front and a genuine and compassionate spirituality.
Criteria: Covenant Member of Waypoint, Apprenticed in the Role, Active and compassionate faith, Worship Committee approval. Police Checks
Preferred: Practical School of Ministry Gradudte
Worship leading
Worship leading is a leadership role within the life of the church in encouraging people to come into the presence of God through song and prayer. One would need to have a welcoming and warm presence from the front and a genuine and compassionate spirituality.
Criteria: Covenant Member of Waypoint, Apprenticed in the Role, Active and compassionate faith, Sing in tune, Worship Committee approval.
Preferred: Practical School of Ministry Graduate
Singing team
Singing team is a complimentary role to the worship leader. One would need to have a warm and worshipful presence on stage and a genuine spirituality. Practice during week of singing required.
Criteria: Attended Pathways, Worship committee standard met, Sing in tune.
Preferred: Singing Lessons
Music team
Music team is a diverse group of musicians to provide the music for worship. Depending on experience and availability will determine how often people are given the chance to play. Practice during week of playing required
Criteria: Attended Pathways, Worship committee standard met.
Preferred: Experience in playing in a band
Sound
Sound technician is responsible for the quality of in-house sound during worship. This includes set up and pack up of various sound gear.
Criteria: Attended Pathways, Apprenticed in the Role.
Preferred: Experience in sound engineering
Data
Data is providing the graphics on screen for worship services. This is done through the data computer and takes concentration throughout the whole service.
Criteria: Attended Pathways, able to use a Windows Computer, Apprenticed in the Role

Streaming
Streaming is providing the sound and video for our live stream. Live stream is mixed separately from the sound in the room. This is a complex role of using multiple computers to produce and send out our live stream.
Criteria: Attended Pathways, Able to use a Windows Computer, Apprenticed in the role.
Preferred: understand of sound engineering and You Tube
Video switching
Video switching is role alongside of streaming, It reduces the streaming role, buy concentrating on switching camera feeds and streaming to You Tube.
Criteria: Attended Pathways, Apprenticed in the Role, Use a Windows Computer.
Preferred: Understanding of You Tube and Video editing
Camera
Camera operator moves the camera and keeps the camera focused during the service. This role gives the online audience different camera angles to maintain interest.
Criteria: Attended Pathways, Apprenticed in the Role, able to concentrate throughout the service
Preferred: some understand of camera equipment
Welcome
Welcome one of first impressions. To welcome new and existing members to our worship services is an essential part of our community. Welcome includes providing new people with important information and counting attendance numbers. A warm and welcoming personality is needed in this role.
Criteria: Attended Pathways, Apprenticed in the Role.
Preferred: being able to speak to new people easily
Communion preparation
Communion preparation is about setting up communion for our congregations. This includes providing the bread and juice for the congregation which varies from site to site. Preparation before the service is required and cleaning up after.
Criteria: Reliability, Servant heart
Prayer Team
Prayer team is a spiritual leadership role within the life of our church. The prayer team offers prayer at the end of the service. It requires a spiritual maturity of knowing how to pray for people appropriately

Preferred: Some training in prayer ministry
Waypoint Kids
Waypoint Kids is either being the leader or a helper. This key role is about assisting our families to disciple their children.
Criteria: Covenant Member of Waypoint, Apprenticed in the Role, Police Checks,
Preferred: Experience working with Children
Waypoint Youth
Waypoint Youth combines discipleship for our young people 11-18years old and outreaching to young people of our community. Friday night availability is essential.
Criteria: Covenant Member of Waypoint, Police Checks, Apprenticed in the Role, Approval from Youth Coordinator, Agreeance with Youth Leader Expectations
Preferred: Experience of working with Young people
Hospitality
Using your gift of hospitality to bless the church either at morning tea or other church function is an important gift for the church. While for large events the church reimburses the hospitality, other events and morning tea are an offering the hospitality team individually provide for the church.
Criteria: Attended Pathways, Apprenticed in the Role, Safe food handling
Preferred: Servant Heart, Generosity
Coffee Machine
The Barista’s job is to provide the best quality coffee we can and use the machine safely.
Criteria: Attended Pathways, Apprenticed in Role,

New Life OpShop
Op-Shop staff help sort and arrange clothes as well as serving customers and representing the church. The shop is open Wednesday and Friday mornings from 9-1pm.

Playgroup
Playgroup is an outreach ministry of the church that requires people to setup and pack up as well as have a mission heart towards the parents and the children
Criteria: Attend Pathways, Police Checks, Missional Heart, Approval from Playgroup Coordinator.
Prefered: Desire to connect with families
Administration
The church runs an office during the week under the supervision of our Administrator. Various tasks are assigned to those who wish to volunteer. Office is open Monday-Wednesday.

Front of house
Front of house is a new role to set up and pack up the church following services. This will include setting up the chairs before the service, making sure the stage is prepared properly and other tasks.

The maintenance of the Waypoint properties is handled by the Property Committee. People on the property committee will be responsible for maintenance and tidiness of the property.

Social Media is a key way to communicate what is happening within the life of our church. Following the social media guidelines it is about communications,
